I went to my secondary school's Alumni Dinner last night at Kelab Shah Alam.. Basically the food was so-so.. I guess during gatherings like these, it's the people that make or break the event, and the food becomes secondary.. I met with a few of my ex-classmates and a slew of people whose faces I recognized but unfortunately not their names :P This included M, who always sat at the back of the hall, right next to the prefects during Monday assemblies.. She was pretty pissed when I asked what her name was, after we've exchanged hellos and hugs! :D
Almost everyone went all out with their wardrobe, except the boys, of course.. I recognized some people almost instantly.. Others took some time for me to register.. But what surprised me most was how many people I didn't recognize in the hall.. Attendance among my batch in particular, Class of '02, was relatively poor compared to the number of our seniors present..
S, my classmate, was one of the 2 MCs for the night.. There were lucky draws, band performances and our inaugral Alumni Idol, a karaoke competition where at the end of the songs, each contestant was awarded with points.. The scores ranged from 97 to 33.. No, I didn't sing :P
There was also a fashion show by one of our more illustrious alumni, ZZ.. He's an all-rounder, all right.. Despite his large girth, he's been running the show since primary school.. I remember him getting 3rd place in a singing competition back in Standard 6.. Then throughout secondary school, he's performed many times onstage.. If I remember correctly, he also joined a cooking competition and got featured in a local newspaper for his efforts.. Right now, he's studying fashion design and I presume launching his own line of clothing is another feather in his cap.. However, his taste in fashion is a bit too risque for me :P
F, my ex-schoolmate, was there too.. He made me promise to go to Warwick.. I've got myself another tour guide, yay! :P On another note, the funniest thing happened.. I met an old crush, A, whom I've vowed not to talk to because he sort of thought a bit too highly of himself since I confessed to him back then.. But I wasn't so fortunate.. Right when I was trying to leave, he crept out of nowhere and said "Hi!".. While we were chatting, R asked A to snap a picture of us.. Then suddenly A asked for a picture with me too, even though it was R's camera.. Hmm.. While we were posing, he quipped, "Nak ambik gambar dengan girlfriend lama ni."
OMG.. What the hell?? Perasan lagi boleh tak?????
Sigh.. I guess ghosts from your past keep haunting you forever :P
