I was browsing through my college senior's blog when I noticed that he linked to his friend called F.. Incidentally, the name had exactly the same unique spelling as my old schoolmate a.k.a. childhood crush.. So I clicked on the link and - voila! - it was him!
F and I were classmates back in Standard Five.. He's my mom's friend's son (did you get that? :P) so in a way, we had something in common.. My feelings for him lasted for a good year or so before we parted ways during secondary school.. Now and then, my mom would occasionally mention things about F, which she undoubtedly heard from her colleague.. Like how he got himself a scholarship from BNM.. And that he's doing Accounting.. And that he's in UK now.. Little did I know that he's in Warwick right now :P
It's strange but I've always had this competitive streak whenever he's around.. Throughout our classes, we've always competed against each other.. When he topped one of the exams, I'd race to beat him for the next exam.. When I first learned how to build websites using HTML, he'd build his own which was (supposedly :P) better..
It's funny thinking how I still want to beat him even up until now.. I guess when I knew that he's in Warwick, I felt a bit jealous.. But it's his rezeki (blessing) so I really shouldn't feel resentful..
You just wait, F.. You just wait..
