I did the stupidest thing just now.. My University B chess team's scheduled to play against Eastleigh Railway C tomorrow.. My team captain has gathered our strongest team so far, which is good.. Today, during chess club, there's this one guy - let's call him Guy (duh!) - who kept asking the captain to let him play.. Well, I think he's a pretty decent player, but I don't really like Guy's attitude.. Sort of like I'm-the-best-nobody-else-is kind of thing.. But then again, maybe I'm being judgemental.. Anyway..
Guy : If you need people, I'd like to play for the team.
Captain : Uh, yeah. OK, I'll think about it.
Guy : Good. So when's the next game?
Captain : Uhm, let me think. Oh yeah, it's next week.

I swear, I tried to keep a poker face as much as possible :D
Then when I was about to leave, I (stupidly) asked my captain :
Me : So what time do I meet you guys tomorrow?
Guy : What? Tomorrow? What's on tomorrow?
Oh. Shit.
(I don't usually use the word 'shit' but this scenario really warranted the uncharacteristic vocab.)
So I mumbled my goodbyes and speedily bolted out of the door :P
What a major paux pas! Can the ground open up and swallow me whole now, please?
