Sigh, my accommodation appeal's been turned down.. I guess it'll be like boarding school all over again :(
My friend gave me one gem of an advice a couple of days ago..
DON'T GIVE UP!
No matter how hard it seems, you just gotta face it.. It's not over till it's over..
St Margaret's House
ADVANTAGES :
1) Get to know lots more people from all around the world.
2) Like S said, I can get free tuition :D
3) For a small isolated hall, it has all the necessities of a larger hall complex (i.e. computer room, laundrette, etc.)
4) Rent is almost GBP 1000 cheaper.
5) Location-wise, it's smack in the middle between the main campus (1 mile) and the city centre (1 mile).
DISADVANTAGES :
1) I'm sharing toilets with another 3.5 people.
2) If I have a male flatmate, I'll have to get properly dressed right before I walk out of my bedroom door.
3) Most Malaysians are staying miles away from me so I'd probably be excluded from all group activities.
4) I'll have to buy all my cooking utensils on my own and I can't share the costs with my flatmates.
5) Risk of severe loneliness - hey, I didn't drop out of boarding school back in Form One because of nothing, OK?
So yeah, I'm expecting a tough time there.. But is there anything I can do to change what's happened? No, absolutely nothing.. So from now on, I'm just gonna take every curveball thrown at me and get through this with dignity..
Of course, it's easier said than done.. But at least I'm trying.. Maybe in one month's time, I'd be huddling on the floor crying, thinking I'm the loneliest person in the world.. Then again, maybe I won't :)
Please pray for me.
