Last Wednesday.. I bought my dad's birthday present.. yay! And thanks to a certain someone for helping me out ;)
Last Thursday.. I went to teach my IT class, which incidentally had a reduced attendance, from 20 to 10 :P
Last Friday.. I stayed at home, wishing I was someplace else.
Last Saturday.. I went for my first 5-hour talk on road safety, etc.. I'm learning how to drive!
This morning.. I went to college for KYUEM chess open.. Struggled like hell before clinching the Best Lady prize by a whisker.. When Mr. S said that chess doesn't involve luck.. Well, sir, sorry to say, but HELL NO.. I was on the brink of going home empty handed before a miraculous turn of events led to the blunder made by the poor girl I met in the last round, much to her chagrin.. Memang kuasa Allah.. Alhamdulillah!
So I played horribly today.. My dad and Z told me I shouldn't get too worked up, it's not like I haven't lost before.. But the thing is, I was going strong for the first 2 rounds but I sort of lost steam from Round 3 onwards.. It's so frustrating that I didn't capitalize on a few good chances to chalk up a few more points.. Sigh..
But overall, I have to commend the work done by the current senior batch of our college's chess club.. They did a terrific job handling the event.. Despite the delays, which I think are normal in every chess tournament, everything went without a glitch, and I couldn't have asked for a better team to fulfill my dream.. A dream I never got to fulfill myself..
I've brought a national chess tournament to KYUEM :)
I feel like crying now.
(Oh, shut up. I know what you guys are thinking.)
