I'm alone in my chalet now.. Both of my chaletmates are at home.. Sigh.. Why did I have to watch The Grudge last Saturday.. Iskkk.. :(
This morning, I was down with flu.. My whole body ached like mad and my throat felt sore.. I wanted to borrow T's bike in the morning so that I could learn how to ride it (yes, folks, believe it) but since I was so sick, I stayed in bed.. I barely ate my lunch and Z had to bring me his own medication.. Thank you, Z! :)
I slept some more after that.. By the time I woke up, it was 5pm and I was sweating like mad.. Z's drugs had worked perfectly.. So since I felt much better, I went ahead with my bike lessons with R.. And now - drumrolls - I can actually cycle! Well, provided that it doesn't involve moving in a straight line and turning into sharp corners but involves heading towards a tree/curb/drain and cycling towards a moving car :P
The latest college play was tonight's 'Business is War', directed by Ms. S.. It was awesome.. Here's the plot, taken from the leaflets distributed at the hall :
George (proprietor, copywriter, account exec, all rolled into one) of Innovative Advertising, is trying to make ends meet. He is determinedly single and dedicated to his work : his business philosophy in a cut-throat world is "Business Is War." George is assisted/hampered in this by his secretary, Priya, who has a somewhat light-headed take on the same world. Just as he is deperately searching for some lingerie models for a photo shoot, a potential client arrives, Datin Data of Thumtax Software Exports, and offers George her account in the US, provided that he is married. He has to find someone to pretend to be his wife. At the same time, he is under investigation for fraudulent advertising...
Although the play was relatively short - only 40 minutes - most of the jokes were more engineer-friendly and very enjoyable.. The crowd liked it pretty much.. Kudos to KYUEM players! ;)
