I've been following the show since its pilot and it's a really unique reality show, to say the least.. Some boxing purists would argue that the way the fights were portrayed were highly glossed with made-for-TV editing but I think that would be the best way to connect with home viewers and I know I'm hooked to the show.. Mark Burnett's a genius when it comes to showing human drama on TV.. But it's a pity that The Contender's being cancelled, despite rave reviews from critics..
Tonight marks the 2nd time I've went to Dr. F's open house.. Hehehe.. And tonight was pretty eventful.. He commented that I was being particularly 'frivolous'.. I think it had to be the 2 cups of Coke I drank.. Makes me a bit jumpy sometimes.. hehehe.. It's closer to bring drunk, really.. LOL..
He also said that the best teachers are the subversive ones, which I think is pretty true.. The best teachers always have the power to shape the future through the minds of their students, and I've always thought that Dr. F's words of wisdom are extremely influential at times.. Sigh, I hope I can become a subversive teacher some day :P
All this talk about being a teacher really made me miss my secondary school, SMK Section 9.. I can't wait to go back there and relive the memories.. I doubt things are still the same the way they were back then.. But still, the days I spent there were some of the best in my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else :)
