Last Saturday, I went to Evening With Diamond.. T and I was representing the female seniors in an inter-batch eating competition Fear Factor style.. Along with a rock hard loaf of french bread, there was half a jug of blended onions, garlic, petola (vegetable gourd), petai and coffee.. When the guys had their round first, H threw up barely minutes into the competition.. The stench was unbearable.. Then when he offered everybody around him a sip of the killer concoction, I joined in.. Let me tell you, it has the most foul smell in the world and one small sip was enough to make me nauseous :P
In the end, the girls event was cancelled because there were no junior female participants.. Hahaha.. So technically, we seniors won by default.. But unfortunately the esteemed emcee conveniently 'forgot' to mention even a word about the girls event that I doubt anybody even realized that there was supposed to be one in the first place :P
Apart from that gross event, there were other segments like limbo rock, gimmicks, band performances, making roti canai and also a themed fashion show, which is fast becoming customary as seen in every recent 'Evening With..' :P
The events were pretty OK in the sense that they were more visual, but like what A commented, the participation seemed to be among a select few only.. Other students felt left out pretty quickly..
Oh well, I guess it's something that you've come to expect for every 'Evening With..' in this college.. heh.. No matter how hard the organizing committee works to make it a big success, people will always find it boring some way or another :P
