Accounts of an Adolescent

I went to the NRD's Shah Alam branch to change my old IC into MyKad.. Arrived there by 8am, which is late in terms of government offices' service hours :P So I queued for awhile before being told that I couldn't proceed with my application.. Almost 3 years ago, I applied for a replacement IC before I found my lost IC again.. So apparently I have to go to JPN's HQ in PJ and pay RM100 to get my MPC which doesn't require me to change to MyKad because it works more or less works like MyKad.. So tomorrow I'll have to brave the brutal Federal Highway traffic crawl in the morning :P

Then at around 9am, I bumped into Pn. R who happened to be around the area.. I decided to hang out with her while she waited for her husband to come pick her up.. So we went to a mamak shop for breakfast and chatted about our lives while we waited for Reject Shop to open its doors :P

This afternoon, I met up with 2 of my closest buddies back in secondary school, K and R.. I met them for a total duration of 3 hours yet throughout the get-together I just couldn't wait to get home! K was getting chubbier than I last remembered him and he was going on and on about how he dumped this girl who I thought was going steady with him.. He admitted to drinking 4 shots of vodka in one night of clubbing up in Kedah (sic).. Then both K and R talked about the differences between German and Japanese sentence structures.. When they asked me to come along to K's house, I politely declined.. I think these are the times when it's handy to use my mom's curfews as excuses :P

You know, this isn't the first time I've been let down by my nostalgic "trips".. OK, so this is the 2nd.. heh.. Both times, I was looking forward to catching up on old times and seeing how my friends are doing nowadays.. I guess I did achieve the latter, but once I did, I realized that these people weren't the same people I used to know.. Either that, or I'm too caught up with my old memories of school that I wouldn't allow the present to change the way I see my friends today..

People change.. I should know better :P
