Today there was a blood drive at the Great Hall.. Almost everybody went to do their noble deed to the community.. T commented that it was a stark contrast to a previous blood drive at INTI which nobody went to.. Makes me really ponder over the power of peer pressure in this college.. heh.. It's as if you must donate blood, or else.. And if you're not, you better have a really good reason not to, like me.. heh.. Hey, I'm not bluffing here.. If you really don't believe me, I can show you my medical records.. If I can find it.. somewhere :P
So being granted with a valid reason to mingle around the hall safely i.e. without getting poked by needles, I had the pleasure of seeing my other friends exert their best poker faces.. Heh, joking :P Most of them were really strong - a trait I'd quickly lose at the sight of needles.. But there was A who quickly became famous for his screams - even before the needle pricked his skin! By the end of his turn, there was a whole group of 10+ people gathering around him giving comforting moral support..
"Look at that large needle!"
"That's going to hurt!"
"Nurse, take 3 bags of blood from him!"
Overall, it was pretty fun to watch all sorts of people behaving in all sorts of ways.. I even managed to snap a few pictures of my friends with my camera phone.. Occasionally, I'd look at the empty beds and imagine myself actually lying there, ready to give my gift of life..
And I quickly dismissed the idea :P
