How come I always get sick when I'm on holiday??

I started having a cold since last Saturday.. For the last couple of nights, I couldn't sleep at all because I felt extremely cold - and that's with my fan turned off.. This afternoon, I forced myself to sleep through the afternoon heat - with my fan still off - so that I can sweat myself out.. It worked wonders.. Now I can hardly feel the headaches that used to give me sleepless nights.. Although I had to deal with my horrific body odour after that 'sauna session' :P

Less than a week to go before college reopens.. I haven't even started to pack anything yet.. Heh, I haven't even touched my holiday assignments yet, either.. If there was a prize for the worst procrastinator of all time, I'd win hands down :P

Greece won the recently concluded Euro 2004, winning 1-0 against the more fancied Portugal.. Ever since the opening Group A match between those two teams, I've been rooting for the Greeks, especially a particular midfielder called Zagorakis because he was one of the players I chose for my fantasy football team.. Back then, I couldn't even pronouce his name properly.. Now, his name slips off my tongue effortlessly :P I've been including him in my team for each matchday of the tournament, until the fateful day Greece went up against France in the quarter-finals.. I dropped him in favour of French midfielder Zidane and what do you know.. He assisted Greek striker Charisteas in scoring the solitary goal that sent the defending champions packing.. From that day forward, he remained a faithful member of my team :)

My comments on Euro 2004? It's nice to see the underdogs win, for once.. Greece were 80-1 outsiders at the start of the tournament, and to see them lift the trophy is nothing less than amazing.. Lots of people were criticising Greece's defensive strategy but IMHO, all those people are sore losers.. It doesn't matter how you play the game, it's the end result that matters.. And although I do agree that Greece's gameplay isn't exactly what you'd call spectacular, their teamwork is terrific..

I also hate the way Italy blamed their early exit on Sweden and Denmark for the 2-2 draw in their final Group C match.. Italy should've played better in their earlier group matches instead of pointing fingers at everybody else.. This isn't the first time for Italy.. Remember World Cup 2002?

It's been quite a while since I last followed a football tournament this closely.. I'll be looking forward to my normal sleeping hours :P
