Woke up late yesterday since it was a public holiday in Melaka.. Melaka day or something.. Something of a luxury here in KYSM.. We went to the computer lab at 11am and proceeded to surf the Internet as usual.. It's funny to see only the 5 of us online in MSN Messenger.. I guess during holidays like these, only people like us are awake this early..
One of the best things about this place is that they play the radio out loud during meals.. Not only does it complement the sumptuous food nicely, it also brings a laid-back feel to our mood.. For lunch, they played a series of old Malay songs.. It's funny how we reminisced about our childhood through each song.. Fran's 'Sekadar di Pinggiran', Iklim's 'Seribu Kali Sayang'.. Sigh.. They used to be our favourite songs which we memorized by heart.. Nowadays, we diss Malay songs in favour of English ones :P
So as soon as we got back to the lab, E started to access this huge archive of Malay songs and we took a trip down memory lane.. We played back all the songs we used to love.. KRU's 'Ooh La! La!', Jamal Abdillah 'Kekasih Awal dan Akhir'.. Even pop girl band, Elite's 'Tamparan Wanita'! We sang out loud and everybody was having a ball.. It was so cool to have the whole computer lab all to ourselves :)
Then E told me to write up our own recommendation letters and certificates.. What? Apparently Mr. A just wanted us to complete the letters and all he has to do is sign them.. Hmm.. Reasonable enough.. For him! As much as I like to hog the limelight sometimes, I still feel uneasy about writing glowing recommendations of myself.. I feel as if they're so superficial and fake.. Yet in all honesty, if you want a really good recommendation, you might as well write is yourself, because nobody knows you better than you do..
So after writing those letters with H's help, I wanted to surf the Internet until - poof - the room became pitch black.. Blackout.. We just sat there and waited.. We were sort of expecting the electricity back in a couple of minutes because that is usually the case in our college, KYUEM.. But it never came.. E and Mr. A told us that blackouts in KYSM usually lasts around 2 hours.. At it was 11pm :P So we decided to leave all our stuff in the lab and return the next day to pick them up..
Since it was so dark and the blackout hit the whole college, it meant the girls' apartment was going to be a mosquito party.. So when the guys offered us to stay in their bungalow, we said 'yes!' in no time :P After collecting all our stuff from the apartment, we headed to the bungalow.. E warned us to keep our voices down so as not to attract the attention of the guards, considering our previous request to have the girls and boys stay under one roof was rejected.. But as soon as we arrived at the junction heading to the bungalows, there sat a couple of guards flashing their torchlights at us.. Gulp.. E looked at us.. But we all just acted cool and walked straight up to the bungalow.. Luckily the guards didn't pry too much on why the two of us girls were there with the boys :P
To kill time, we played this one word story game, where everybody takes turns to fill in one word at a time to form a story in the end.. It was hilarious! Almost everybody (and everything) was mentioned in the story.. From teachers dancing naked to H's balls.. From threesomes to stripping.. OK, so our story was a bit 18SX.. I don't remember being so perverted in my life.. But it was all in good fun.. Hopefully people won't get mad.. much.. especially H :P After listening to some spooky stories by E and F (H actually fell asleep through all that horror!), we decided to go to sleep.. The girls slept in E's room.. (E slept with the other boys la.. duh!!).. And to finally feel the air-conditioner's breeze in his room was heavenly..
So yesterday we spent the last night in KYSM quite eventfully.. I'm lucky to be here with these wonderful friends of mine.. I doubt that I would be having as much fun as I am right now if I had come here with a different set of people.. Like my friend FI used to tell me, it's not about the place, but it's about the people you're with.. Nicely put :)
So now I'm waiting for the moment when we'll be on our way home.. Only a few hours now.. My mom's coming to pick me up at 2pm.. I would've liked her to come earlier.. The boys are going back with the college van at 12pm.. But anytime is a good time as long as I can get myself out of here..
Maybe I'll post up a review of my week in KYSM.. Once I start sorting out my homework :P
