Oh my god.. Am I jinxed?
Guess how many people were in my Under 20 girls category.. Four.. Including me.. And I'm seeded third.. The top seed is one of Malaysia's SEA Games athletes, JN.. Because of our 'large' turnout, we had to play in a round robin format where we meet each other twice, totalling 6 rounds in all..
It's so ironic that I won against the 2nd seed but subsequently lost to the 4th seed and later on drew with the top seed.. So overall, I got 1.5 points out of 3 games.. Tomorrow I'll be playing another 3 games with the same set of people, only with different coloured pieces, i.e. black as compared to today's white.. How do I see myself faring tomorrow? I can literally kiss the top spot goodbye.. The best I can achieve is no 2.. Provided that I'll be able to stave off the challenges from the other 2 girls.. But from the looks of things, even that's not guaranteed..
I had 3 hours to burn in between Round 1 and 2 today, so I went to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and KLCC.. hehe.. I splurged on a small cup of Baskin-Robbins ice cream while reading the latest issue of Remaja.. Sweet bliss.. Once in a while, my mind would wander off to my dear friends (who are still stuck) in college.. muahahaha..
My day didn't end there.. My mom's boyfriend a.k.a. Mr. Uncle offered me 2 tickets to see the Formula 1 race in Sepang this Sunday! And they're not just the normal hillstand tickets.. They're the RM999 grandstand tickets! I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the news.. But then I had already told T that we'd go to Putra World Trade Centre together for the Education UK 2004 Expo.. Grandstand F1 tickets vs. education expo.. Hmm..
Are you kidding me???
Sorry T :P
