I found out that someone who had previously pulled out of our chess team to KMB suddenly made a 180-degree turn and now he says that he wants to play.. What the.. Urgh.. man.. They really think they can come and go as they please? Right now we're in a dilemma.. Should we give more importance to these selfish people who happen to be superb chess players, or should we close the door to them and seal our fate as losers?
K, the SC sports exco, asked if we were that desperate for a win.. I said yes.. Is it wrong to be passionate about winning? There's a difference between being realistic and being ambitious.. But if there's a remote chance for us to win, shouldn't we work on achieving it? It's bad enough that we're sending a depleted team to KMB.. So if someone's capable of boosting our team's chances of winning, should we grab the opportunity, and risk additional resentment from the chess team? Or should we put our foot down and resign ourselves to be slain by the other colleges?
The best thing about (reading other people's) blogs is that you can access information that's not necessarily available in public.. Like yesterday's party.. I didn't know that a few of them were uninvited, causing some displeasure amongst the gang.. Hmm.. For once I'm grateful to drop my busybody persona :P
