And the story continues..

Rise and shine
The chess team were already up and about because our games started at 8am compared to the others whose matches weren't until 10.. We totally dreaded going into it because at the back of our minds the only thought we had was failure..

Plan Z
It was so ironic that in the span of the previous 24 hours, we've changed plans so many times I've lost count.. And in that morning before our games, we changed it again.. What was the big surprise I wanted to spring? Heh.. it was mooted and then shot down and later reinstated.. I suggested splitting our strength equally into 2 teams, which was far riskier should any of the key players in each team fail to deliver.. Some suggested to focus all our strength in 1 team, whereas another suggestion was to divide the teams by gender, which in my opinion would single-handedly ensure loss after loss for the girls team.. So in the end, we opted for a mixture of all our strategies :P

The battle begins
In the first round, it wasn't until midway through the game that I happened to glance at the scoresheet and realized that there was something familiar with the name of my opponent.. And then I remembered : KYUEM A vs. KMS B.. I was playing with my friend's younger brother! How oblivious can I be? :P I remembered his brother giving me a challenge to win because of his prediction that we'd lose 5-0 to KMS B.. Guess what? We won 4-1.. It was sweet bliss :)

Headache.. Headache..
I was having small headaches after each round that made me feel really nervous about our final round against the top team in the field, KMB A.. I even had near-fall experiences in 2 of my games which I could've easily lost if it weren't for lady luck.. It just shows how almighty God is..

Final showdown
KYUEM A vs. KMB A.. I sat at the first board and incidentally my opponent is also from Shah Alam.. So my KMB friend commented on our derby :) I was so engrossed in my game that I didn't realize that 3 of our 5 boards were already over.. It wasn't until I finished my game that I found out - I won the winning point! We were leading by 2-1 and my win sealed the first place for our team! Yayyyy!!!

College rulez
After I slept the rest of the afternoon away, I went down to support our college's basketball and football teams.. In the former match, we lost to UiTM's Intec team and in the latter, we won over KMB by penalty shootout, 4-3.. In the closing ceremony, KYUEM won so many events that we were confident of bagging the overall title.. But it wasn't meant to be as KMB stole the trophy away by 1 solitary point :(

Back to college
We set out from KMB at 8.30pm.. It turned out that the bus which was supposed to bring back the 44 students who went to Midvalley broke down so they were all stranded.. So a bus from Banting was semi-emptied to be sent to 'rescue' those people while the other 2 buses headed on to Lembah Beringin.. I heard that the the people in the rescue bus were packed like sardines.. Which included T, my closest friend :P During the course of our journey, we almost lost our way twice.. Both of which were expertly salvaged by our bus driver who masterly reversed our huge bus along the outer lane of the highway until we reached the turns we missed :P

Overall, it was quite an experience, not unlike the stories I've been told by my seniors.. If I were given the chance, would I do it all over again?

Not a chance :P
