This morning, I kept telling to myself.. Please let me survive these next few hours.. There were 2 tests - Statistics and Accounting - both of which I wasn't really well prepared for.. Plus I had to hand in my Computing AS structured task so today has been a pretty busy day indeed..
I slogged my way through Statistics.. (My friend Z gave me the answer for the 1st question.. thanks :P).. Accounting was surprisingly easy considering Mr. K's knack for giving us killer test papers before.. In Computing class, I was a bit pissed off when I was told to redo my work because apparently I did something in the wrong format.. OK, fine.. So I redid the thing.. And then only did I find out that another classmate of mine didn't have to do that because her format, which was exactly identical to my previous one, was accepted.. Grrr.. And I had to wait a good 30 minutes just to print 1 piece of paper :P
The Hepatitis B jab was a pain.. Literally.. I was freaking out while the line became shorter and shorter.. I've been jabbed with needles so many times during my less than healthy childhood that I've developed such a strong dislike for it.. And just as it was my turn, our teacher who's famously known as Mrs. Kucing Kurap decided to cut the queue.. So OK, no big deal.. My friend T who was beside me - and was jibing endlessly at my phobia of needles - quipped that I should "Thank God for the temporary reprieve".. But I retorted, "Temporary reprieve or prolonging my agony?".. Then Mrs. Kucing Kurap turned to face us and said, "Yes, that's my duty. To prolong your agony."
Huh? What was her problem? I just smiled and laughed it off, but T and I exchanged looks as she lip synched "b****"
Later in the afternoon, I went to join the Sapphire team for the ICAN treasure hunt.. We all wore blue and we had to collect clues and answer 4 sets of questions en route to the final checkpoint.. We were required to perform a specific task at each checkpoint and then do some pretty decent scavenging for the clues.. The catch was, if any task could not be completed, all 5 team members would have their faces painted.. I never thought I'd say this, but having my chaletmate J in the team was a blessing.. She had this no-nonsense attitude from the get go.. And the moment we were stumped by any of the tasks, she'd straight away say "Paint!" :P
Well, OK.. So we opted for the paint for 3 out of the total 4 tasks :P But what amused me was that despite being a 5-(wo)man team, our think tank consisted of only 2 people.. Whereas the other 3 (including me) just stood there watching as the 2 tried to answer the Sirah-related questions.. We ran around the whole college compound like kids.. Wait.. we still are kids.. We even passed the Greenthumbers who were working on their garden.. They looked befuddled everytime we passed them with our colourful 'battle wounds' :P
We arrived at the last checkpoint in 1st place.. But it was only after we returned to our chalets that we found out that 3 out of our 4 answers were wrong :P Later in the night, when I asked the organiser when was the prize giving and who had actually won, she sort of diverted off into "Oh, we chose the winner based on the number of correct answers, etc.".. Which I really sensed as a big "You lost" vibe coming out of her :P The winner won't be announced any time soon, so let's just keep our fingers crossed..
Tonight's Muslimah Night or Lailatun Nisa' was a blast.. The macaroni was awesome and the talk, presented by Dr. Harlina of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, was one of the best I've ever attended.. It was about "Treasuring the Precious You".. She was frank and straight to the point.. Lots of her issues were relevant to our lives and she couldn't be more outspoken about it.. She even included very (porno?)graphic images into her talk as well.. Talk about visualization :P It was a shame that the boys weren't there because we would've had so much fun shooting verbal daggers at them.. Muahahaha.. She even told us all to "get married as soon as possible", much to the chagrin of our Student Services manager :)
The last 2 religious talks held by ICAN have been major successes for me personally.. I've never been so eager to admit that I've even attended a single talk before :P Kudos to the ICAN team.. Tomorrow I'll be helping out Z, pushing and shoving and moving props around the stage.. Hopefully it'll be a fitting finale to ICAN :)
