Back in college.. Lugging my huge briefcase has to be the most embarrasing moment in my life.. Everybody else was carrying tote bags or sling bags, max.. But as for me, I had 2 boxes and six (6) bags including a huge traveller's suitcase.. And to put salt into my (self-inflicted) wound, at 1st it seemed like nobody was bothered to see me carrying all my small bags but as soon as I brought out the big one, everybody decided to walk out of their rooms/chalets/etc. just to watch me clumsily drag the blasted briefcase out of the car boot and into my room.. It was the longest 50m ever :P
Somebody broke into our chalet.. My chaletmate, J, lost her toiletries and kettle.. Darn.. Just when I had bought a thermos :P Luckily, I didn't lose a thing, because I brought back almost everything with me.. But I definitely didn't feel that way when I carried them back into my chalet :P
5 minutes in my room and my mom was raring to rearrange all the furniture.. It took me a while to get her to say goodbye :P I finally brought my printer along.. Yay! Unpacking was a frenzy, but I managed to store away everything in 1 and a half hours, just in time for dinner.. The dining hall was unusually quiet.. They used paper plates instead of the usual trays because they didn't have enough water.. During dinner, I heard so many stories from my friends who had just returned from the Duke of Edinburgh expedition.. Most of them involved the words 'exhaustion', 'injury' and 'stink'.. Plus a liberal dose of I'm-skipping-class-tomorrow.. Which makes me really, really, really thankful that I wisely chose to stay at home and watch Survivor All-Stars.. muahahaha..
Class starts tomorrow.. It'll be very intriguing to see how my classmates try to weasel their way out of the English presentation homework :)
