It's funny.. 2 hours into the day I was getting bored to death, contemplating the next 2 weeks of holidays I have left.. Am I sentenced to 14 days of mind-numbing idleness?
Then the unexpected happened.. My mom's boyfriend, Uncle A, came to our house.. It's his birthday today.. Yesterday I bought him a box of god-knows-what-brand chocolates resembling Ferrero Rocher but costs a fraction of the real thing :P
Then he 'conveniently' slipped an 'extra' handphone (he has 4) out of his pocket.. And gave it to me! I was flabbergasted.. I refused at 1st because I remembered my dad's exchange offer.. But since Uncle A was so insistent.. And it was a pretty cool handphone.. So I accepted his gift.. Wait.. whose birthday was it again? :)
So now I'm a proud owner of a 2 weeks old Samsung SGH-R220.. I didn't know how to use it so I had to pore through its thick user manual :P He gave me the whole box set, including the receipt.. After he left, I checked it out.. RM310.. Pretty reasonable.. Alhamdulillah.. It's not often that you get expensive gifts like this on a dreadful Monday morning :)
This afternoon I got this 1 particular e-mail.. Its subject was so unassuming that I was tempted to delete it with the rest of my junk mail :P But once I opened it, I was in for a pleasant surprise.. It was from someone who happened to read my blog by chance.. Reading that e-mail really made my day.. I've never had any other feedback apart from the Tagboard and my junior's blog.. It was like reading my 1st fan mail.. Hahaha..
That's one of the things I like about writing blogs.. You can write about stupid things and get people to tell you that it's stupid.. But in diaries, you just stay stupid :P I don't think I've ever been as enthusiastic over any of my diaries as much as I am with my blog.. Blogger says that lots of people get publishing contracts out of their blogs.. Do I see myself as a future author? Muahahaha.. :P
So despite the slow start to my day, it turned out pretty well.. Now to think of an excuse for my dad about the handphone thingee.. Hmm..
