Had a surprise Physics test today - 1 minute after my closest friend warned me about it.. darn.. My two Maths teachers have also changed roles; my Pure Maths teacher's going to teach Mechanics while my other Stats teacher will be teaching Pure Maths.. Now I have to go buy a Mechanics textbook with the remnants of my money :P
Amazingly, I had the stamina to actually listen and give suggestions for two of my friends' problems.. Haha.. that's an achievement considering how disillusioned I am about solving problems right now.. :P
Want to hear the story of my life? Yesterday I joked with a friend of mine, K, that I'd run for our college's Student Council if he was running too.. Then this afternoon during lunch - nomination day - my other friend, E, told me that me that K was running after all! That put me in such a quagmire.. I didn't really want to run but I couldn't back out on what I told him.. Besides, like the old Malay saying goes, 'Kata mesti dikota'.. And besides, it sounds like fun :P
So there I was with a slew of my other highly ambitious friends who also came for the nominations.. And which post did I go for? Of course, it had to be the most impossible to achieve - vice president.. I'm up against another prominent figure in our college and another ex-classmate of mine.. Going into the nomination room, I was feeling pretty hyped up.. But once I attended the briefing and after a short discussion with some of my friends on my prospects, I don't really feel that confident anymore :P
And that's the best part.. I joined the race for fun.. So why should I care if I win or lose? Hmm.. All three of us decided that we wouldn't be campaigning, much to the chagrin of a senior of mine, but I think it would take too much time and effort.. And besides, there's still the manifesto night to help swing in the votes.. But how the heck am I going to do that? What am I going to say?
I think the whole day has been crazy for me.. I still can't believe I'm running for vice-presidency despite my utter dislike for the SC.. Am I power-hungry? Hmm.. You know what.. Maybe.. muahahaha..
