I went to PC Fair today at the brand new KL Convention Centre, and let me tell you this..
I hated it.
First of all, when I saw the unusual crowd at the Shah Alam Komuter station, I should've known that it was a bad sign.. Secondly, I was confident that I could withdraw my ASB savings this morning to buy a new digital camera.. Turns out ASB transactions are on weekdays only.. Major bummer.. So effectively, I went to PC Fair just for window shopping.. Sigh :(
Met up with H at the entrance, then M, then K.. Then a few minutes later, I lost them all :P So I called up H and arranged to meet him later for lunch.. There were so many people that we could hardly walk without bumping into some stranger.. It was soo congested.. FI came too, but apparently changed her mind when she saw the crazy crowd.. She went shopping at KLCC instead :P
In the end, I got a few brochures on laptops and digital cameras.. Apparently all promotional prices increase by RM300 after PC Fair.. iskk :( The crowd grew more and more, to the point that I had to push and shove in order to move.. The exhibition halls grew stuffy and uncomfortable that I gave up by the 3rd of 5 halls, heading straight for the exit, but not before bumping into 2 of my ex-schoolmates..
H treated me to lunch (thanks!) where we bumped into M, a collegemate.. Apparently another 2 collegemates were at the PC Fair too.. H and I decided to take a cab to KL Sentral since the LRT station was packed to the brim, but only to drive into a massive traffic jam :P
So in conclusion, I miss the days when PC Fair was held at PWTC.. Back then, I didn't have to change routes from Komuter to Putra LRT because PWTC was accessible through Komuter's Sentul line.. I'd just take a train from Shah Alam, sit back and relax.. One hour later, I'd be at the Putra station, just 5 minutes away from PWTC.. And I remember the halls at PWTC were never as crowded as it was today, even on a Sunday afternoon..
I guess those were the good old days.. Sigh :(
