The winner of Survivor 10 : Palau was revealed this morning, and frankly I'm not really pleased.. Well, I know that nobody in Malaysia's watching it, so I'm not gonna bother giving spoiler alerts.. The winner is Tom Westman, an NYC firefighter.. It's not that I have anything against this guy, but the way he won is so unorthodox for a Sole Survivor.. He was very dominant throughout every reward and immunity challenge.. He carried his tribe to victory after victory, causing the opposing tribe to keep voting off their members until they got decimated towards the end.. Colby from Survivor 2 : The Australian Outback was considered dominant because he was winning way too many challenges, yet I believe Tom's winning streak made Colby's look like child's play..
But that's why I really hate the fact that Tom won.. He's such an obvious threat that I can't believe his tribemates never even thought of voting him off in the first place.. When Ian plotted against him in the Final Four, Tom found out about it.. And then Ian gave up an immunity challenge just to regain Tom's respect.. Hello? What kind of voodoo is this? I can't believe that anybody so domineering like Tom could've walked away as the Sole Survivor.. It's so unlike the usual formula, where you must not be too much of a threat, minimize any confrontations with people and always be under the radar :P
To me, Survivor 10 had the most number of castaways - 20 - but none of them had the brains to really play the game.. If somebody as nice and powerful as Tom was still in the game, I know I'd kick him off before he starts jeapordizing my shot at a million dollars.. I know people won't agree with me, but I think if Ian had went on to win the million dollars, he would've earned his tribemates' respect simply by being the best at playing the game.. It's a shame that he had the right mentality by plotting against Tom, but quickly lost his steam when his scheme was uncovered :P
So I guess that in a way, not having Survivor 10 on Malaysian TV is probably a good thing :P
I had my Physics Paper 1 and 4 today.. And it took me a few hours after the exam that I started to realize that I'm one of the members of the club formed for those who missed out the 8th question at the back of Paper 4.. Oh well, that's 6 marks down the drain.. Looks like my Physics grade is rather bleak :P
Oh, BTW, I made a small MS Access program specially written for Astrophysics students.. It's supposed to help in memorizing various distances.. If you wanna check it out, give me a buzz and I'll send the file to you :)
